IT and e-Governance Cell
Department of Fisheries has set up an IT and E-Governance data Cell on 19th December 2022 with the objective to conceptualize integrated and dynamic (IT) platform for department catering IT needs of the departments and to provide IT related strategic advisory guidance, procurements, implementation, capacity building, standards, principles and guidelines, architectures, vendor management and Cybersecurity, coordination’s with line ministries etc.
The IT and e-Governance Cell is headed by Economic Advisor (I&A), Department of Fisheries and other key members are:-

- Director (IT, Department of Fisheries) - Director of IT and e-Governance Cell
- Assistant Director- Department of Fisheries
- Principal Consultant- IT and e-Governance Cell
- Senior Technical Consultant
- Technical IT Consultant
- Technical IT Consultant
- Technical IT Consultant
The Broad Terms of Reference of IT and e-Governance Cell are-
- Shall provide technical support to department in IT infrastructure (hardware and Software) related activities.
- Inputs/guidance related to improvement in the existing IT applications shall be provided by IT and e-Governance Cell.
- IT and e-Governance Cell shall provide technical support to all autonomous institutes of Department of Fisheries.
- Shall provide technical support in procurement of IT related activities of department.
- Shall provide be responsible for implementation, Operation and Maintenance of IT applications/Systems of department.
- Responsible as Data Strategy Unit for Data Governance Quality Index (DGQI) activities for PMMSY and FIDF schemes.
- Shall provide technical support for Cyber Security activities such as Security Audit, GIGWand STQC etc.
- Coordination with line ministries and department for integration and compliance related activities of Department of Fisheries.
- Shall provide support in Training and Capacity Building activities.
- All IT assets (applications, software etc.) of Department shall lie under the IT and e-Governance Cell.
- Shall House a Data Cell as the repository of all fisheries related data.
- Coordination with development teams of PMMSY and FIDF for scheme related information.
- Coordination and Monitoring with: Line ministries for IT related initiatives such Gati Shakti, PFMS, Meity, Data gov. in, NIC, MoSPI, MoEF, etc.
- Any other IT related activities/Miscellaneous as and when comes.
